Norsk Musikforlag har på Chor.com den 25.09.2021 inngått en generalavtale med den tyske komponisten Christian Bährens. En generalavtale innebærer at forlaget påtar seg utgivelse av alle kommende verk fra komponisten, avtalen er selvsagt oppsigelig, men en eventuell oppsigelse vil ikke ha betydning for allerede utgitte verker, disse vil bli i katalogen.
– Det er selvsagt en stor begivenhet når vi påtar oss det fulle ansvar for utgivelser fra en opphaver – men vi er sikre på at dette vil komme opphaveren og musikkforlaget til gode, sier Jan Stefan Bengtsson, Norsk Musikforlag om den nye avtalen.
Musikkforleggerne var på Chor.com sammen med blant annet Norsk Musikforlag, Norsk Noteservice, Lyche Musikkforlag Cantando Musikkforlag, Musikk-Husets forlag og Obligato forlag 23.-25. september.
Litt om Christian Bährens:
Christian Bährens is choral conductor, music teacher and composer in his hometown Berlin where he studied Music and English at the University of Arts. He learned choral conducting with Christian Grube and participated in masterclasses with Heinz Hennig and Laszlo Heltay. For his music-making the ideas and principles of Leonard Bernstein and Sergiu Celibidache have also been a great inspiration for many years.
He conducts four choirs in Berlin: Beethoven Gymnasium School Choir, St. Matthew Church Choir, the Wilmersdorf Chamber Choir and the Vocal Ensemble Cantico Nuovo. Concerts before the Corona pandemic included Henry Purcell’s Dido&Aeneas, Bach’s St. John Passion and a Shakespeare project.
Since 1989 Christian Bährens has developed specialist for physioacoustic voice-training which plays an essential part in his choral work. Singing plays an important part in his work as half-time teacher at school and he teaches individuals as well as at workhops for different institutions in Berlin and outside.
In 2011 he was promoted Doctor of Music by Bydgoszcz University in Poland and has since then been workshop lecturer of choral music, conducting and voice training for Poznan Music Academy and Bydgoszcz University.
In the last years he has been very active composing choral music and numerous titles have been published in Norway and Germany, among them Missa Brevis and Magnificat for female choir and German Requiem for mixed choir. Several new pieces will be premiered at the CHORALSPACE Winter Festival in Berlin this December.
